Welcome to the Blogspot of the 2012 Southern Hills Christian College community service overseas trip. Again we will be partnering with Kids International Ministries and travelling to Antipolo - Manila, the Philippines and we will be transiting via Malaysia. The purpose of this trip is for upper secondary students to experience the culture of another country and assist in numerous areas where help is needed. Currently these areas involve teaching, building and food preparation and distribution to slum areas.
Whilst the majority of the trip will involve working in the above mentioned areas, there will be opportunities for the students to experience Pagsanjan Falls and visit the historically significant World War II military base of Corregidor. Other ministry areas include visiting a local prisons to run music and craft activities and participating in a basketball game at a local high school.
